Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Quang – Vice President of UNETI delivering remarks at the program
Continuing the program, Mr. Ha Dong Hao, Vice President of St. John’s University of Science and Technology (SJU) and Member of the Board of Directors of L&K Group, delivered a response speech. He candidly acknowledged that the 3+1 program had not yet been implemented due to challenges related to credit transfer equivalency and the insufficient number of eligible students. Nevertheless, he affirmed that the INTENSE Program has clearly demonstrated its practical value—not only in strengthening Vietnam–Taiwan relations, but also in providing concrete study and employment opportunities for students. He further shared that in 2024, L&K Group achieved a revenue of USD 14 billion, operates a branch in Ho Chi Minh City, and is involved in numerous key projects in Vietnam. The Group is in need of high-caliber graduates capable of taking on important professional positions, rather than general labor. Mr. Ha also revealed that the INTENSE Program will be expanded, with a target of recruiting 30 students in February 2026, followed by another intake in September 2026.
Regarding the 3+1 cooperation program with UNETI, he emphasized that the two universities need to engage in more frequent online discussions to resolve credit articulation issues. In the short term, collaboration should focus on priority disciplines such as electrical–mechanical engineering, construction management, and intelligent transportation/vehicle management.

Representing the corporate partner, Mr. Hsu Shu-Dan emphasized that L&K Group and St. John’s University belong to the same ecosystem, in which SJU plays a key role in training high-quality human resources for the Group. With an increasing number of projects underway, L&K is currently facing a significant shortage of personnel capable of applying artificial intelligence in the construction sector.
Mr. Dan highly appreciated the potential of Vietnamese students, stating: “We have observed that Vietnam has many students with strong academic foundations who are about to graduate, and L&K hopes to directly recruit these outstanding students to join our workforce.” He also pointed out that the Group’s current human resource demand is concentrated in electro-mechanical engineering and electrical engineering—fields closely associated with major international projects.
At the same time, he expressed his expectation that the cooperation program would be more widely disseminated within the University, thereby attracting a growing number of students to participate. “This is an opportunity for students to quickly accumulate professional experience, engage in a real international working environment, and demonstrate their capabilities,” he emphasized.

Mr. Hsu Shu-Dan – Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of L&K Group delivering remarks at the program
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen The Anh – Chief Executive Officer of Sun Asia Joint Stock Company and Head of the SJU Representative Office in Vietnam – affirmed the role of Sun Asia as a “bridge” accompanying UNETI and SJU in the implementation of the INTENSE program. He emphasized that the program’s objective is not merely short-term training, but rather the creation of long-term opportunities for Vietnamese students: enabling them to access a modern learning environment, participate in paid internships at L&K Group, and further, to pursue international employment opportunities after graduation.
Following the main discussion sessions, the two sides exchanged commemorative gifts and took souvenir photos, marking an important milestone in the journey toward sustainable cooperation, while also opening up new and promising opportunities for future collaboration. Representatives of the three partner organizations then proceeded to conduct direct interviews with students who had registered to participate in the scholarship program.
