Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality

The Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality originated from the Basic Economics Division under the former Faculty of Economics of the University of Economics – Technology for Industries. In order to meet the demand for expansion in scale, the Faculty of Basic Economics was officially established as an independent faculty in 2012. To align with its functions and duties after the opening of new programs, on November 16, 2020, the Faculty was renamed the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality with the mission of being a reputable academic unit specializing in training the Tourism and Travel Services Management program and supplying high-quality human resources for the tourism industry.

Currently, the Faculty provides training in two specializations, namely: Tourism and Travel Services Management and Tourism and Hotel Services Management. Along with the 65-year development journey of the University, the teaching staff of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality has always been dedicated to the profession, continuously improving professional qualifications, and constantly updating modern teaching methods to enhance training quality. In addition, the Faculty maintains close cooperation with many lecturers and experts who are PhDs and Master’s degree holders from research institutes and leading universities in the same field, as well as businesspeople and department managers from enterprises, to support the Faculty in training and scientific research activities.

With an application-oriented approach, the Faculty develops its training programs in a practice-based direction, focusing on comprehensive investment in facilities, learning materials, and connections with enterprises for internship placements, in order to create a favorable learning environment for students to accumulate professional knowledge, refine occupational skills, develop a professional working style, and foster a sense of responsibility toward the community. At the same time, students have many opportunities to meet and build new relationships with colleagues, peers, and customers. This plays an important role in increasing students’ employment opportunities after graduation.

By studying at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality, students are fully equipped with professional knowledge and vocational skills; they have opportunities for field visits and professional internships at major partner enterprises in Hanoi City from the first year. In addition, students can participate in dynamic, beneficial, and intellectually enriching extracurricular activities through student clubs, as well as experience practical field trips and meaningful tourism programs organized by the Faculty to practice and develop soft skills.
