Office of Testing and Quality Assurance

1. History and development:

The Office of Testing and Quality Assurance was reassigned its functions and responsibilities and renamed under Decision No. 666 dated December 2, 2019, issued by the President of the University of Economics – Technology for Industries. The predecessor of the Office was the Testing Center and the Quality Assurance Division of the Office of Inspection and Quality Assurance.

• Functions:

• The Office of Testing and Quality Assurance is a functional unit under the University of Economics – Technology for Industries;

• The Office of Testing and Quality Assurance has the function of advising the Rector on the organization of testing and assessment activities, accreditation, and quality assurance of the University.

• Duties and powers:

Organizing and implementing testing and assessment activities for the University’s examinations;

Organizing the development and submission to the Rector for promulgation of documents related to testing and assessment; providing guidance and monitoring the implementation of these documents by units within the University;

Coordinating with faculties and departments to improve examination methods in line with the requirements of disciplines, levels, and modes of training, in order to enhance the effectiveness of training quality assessment;

Coordinating with faculties and departments to organize the development, management, and use of question banks for end-of-course examinations at all levels and training modes, ensuring compliance with course objectives and program/major learning outcomes;

Coordinating with relevant units in organizing examinations; receiving and resolving complaints and requests for re-marking submitted by learners;

Organizing the verification of lecturers’ marking results; conducting statistical analysis of examination score data and reporting, as required by the University, on the results of testing and assessment activities.

b. Organizing the implementation of quality assurance activities

Developing and submitting to the Rector for promulgation regulations and guidelines on quality assurance activities of the University;

Advising the Board of Rectors in inspecting and evaluating the implementation of quality assurance regulations by units within the University;

Advising the Board of Rectors on organizing self-assessment and external assessment activities for educational quality accreditation in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training;

Developing survey procedures, assessment guidelines, and toolkits for self-assessment activities;

Providing guidance and support to units in carrying out self-assessment and implementing quality assurance activities in offices, faculties, departments, and centers within the University;

Managing and archiving self-assessment records; coordinating with relevant units to regularly update evidence in accordance with the University’s quality assurance standards;

Proposing quality improvement solutions based on the results of self-assessment and external assessment.
