Institution-level Scientific Workshop: Enhancing the Quality of Physics Teaching through Blended Learning at UNETI

In the context of higher education undergoing strong transformation to adapt to the demands of the digital era and the trend of global integration, innovating teaching methods has become an urgent task. With this spirit, on the morning of May 29, 2025, the Faculty of Applied Sciences – University of Economics and Technology for Industries successfully organized an institution-level scientific workshop with the theme “Solutions to enhance the quality of teaching and learning Physics through blended learning.”

The workshop was held in Room HA8, Campus 218 Linh Nam, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi, under the chairmanship of Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Yen – Head of the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Attending the workshop were lecturers from within and outside the faculty, scientists from prestigious universities, as well as students. In her opening remarks, Dr. Tran Thi Hoang Yen emphasized the importance of implementing the blended learning model in the current context of higher education. She affirmed that blended learning is gradually becoming a sustainable educational trend, helping to promote learners’ autonomy and flexibility, while also requiring lecturers to innovate their mindset, teaching methods, and instructional tools.

The workshop provided a serious and open academic forum where lecturers and experts shared research directions and teaching methodologies. Notably, the presentation by M.A. Dinh Van Tinh (Faculty of Applied Sciences) opened the discussion series with an overview of solutions to enhance the quality of teaching and learning Physics under the blended learning model at the University of Economics and Technology for Industries. The report emphasized the importance of integrated lesson design, the development of a digital learning resource ecosystem, and flexible assessment methods suited to the characteristics of this model.

Following this were in-depth presentations by reputable scientists. Dr. Sai Cong Doanh (University of Science – VNU Hanoi) presented research on the properties and application potential of CuO nanowires in materials science. Dr. Pham Van Tuan (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) offered an application-oriented perspective by introducing the photocatalytic efficiency of heterostructured semiconductor nanomaterials—an area attracting significant interest in environmental technology and clean energy. Meanwhile, Dr. Pham Thanh Luan (University of Science – VNU Hanoi) provided profound analyses of magnetic and gravitational research methods in geological structure investigation, clearly demonstrating the interdisciplinary nature of modern Physics.

Beyond specialized research, the workshop also recorded practical contributions from faculty lecturers. M.A. Bui Thi Hue delivered a dedicated presentation on enhancing students’ interest in learning Physics for Electrical and Electronics Engineering majors in a blended learning environment, emphasizing the role of learning experiences and personalized interaction. M.A. Nguyen Thi Thu concluded the reporting session with a presentation on the necessity of synchronizing learning activities with outcome assessment— a key factor in ensuring quality and fairness in a flexible teaching and learning environment.

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants unanimously agreed that the implementation of blended learning is an inevitable trend in higher education, especially for subjects with a high level of scientific content such as Physics. The workshop opened up many feasible directions, ranging from the development of electronic learning materials and the application of digital technology in testing and assessment, to building effective online learning communities. At the same time, it proposed continuing to organize in-depth seminars, promoting academic exchange, and expanding research collaboration among educational institutions in order to enhance teaching capacity and rapidly adapt to educational innovation requirements.

With practical content, professional organization, and a serious academic spirit, the workshop “Solutions to enhance the quality of teaching and learning Physics through blended learning” truly became a highlight of the Faculty of Applied Sciences’ professional activities in the 2024–2025 academic year, making an important contribution to the University’s orientation toward comprehensive and sustainable quality development in the period of strong transformation of higher education.

After the reporting and discussion sessions, the workshop concluded successfully.
